Abstract

Analysis of multicomponent, multisensor, electromagnetic data typically requires estimates of both transfer functions between components and of descriptive quantities such as polarization parameters. Conventional estimates of transfer functions, however, depend on numerous statistical assumptions that are rarely satisfied in such data. In this paper the author discusses the influence and interactions of these assumptions on the estimated transfer functions and describe some tests for their violation.<>
