Abstract
In this paper, the superhydrophobic groove arrays were fabricated with wire electrochemical machining when selecting stainless steel as the experimental substrate. A multi-scale composite rough structures were fabricated on stainless steel substrates by WECM in a optimal parameters. After being modified by the fluoroalkylsilane, a water contact angle on the stainless steel surfaces was more than 150°, which proved superhydrophobic. By varying the center-to-center spacing, we can regulate the surface morphology and the wetting properties. With the increase of the center-to-center spacing, the contact angles of the groove arrays on stainless steel substrate range from156° to 142°.
