Abstract

In wireless sensor networks, it is very important to design energy-efficient communication protocols, since sensor nodes are battery-powered and thus their lifetimes are limited. In these networks, it is also very crucial to provide solutions permitting users exploit the deployed sensor network. Data query dissemination and data gathering are the main objective of this study presented in this paper. We propose a protocol called QDDP (Query-based Data Dissemination Protocol) which attempts to save energy through new data query forwarding technique and new data gathering strategy. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol comparing with another known protocol is energy-efficient.
