Abstract
In this paper, an auction-based spectrum leasing for hybrid access in macro-femto network with location sensing is proposed to maximize the utilities of MBS and FAPs. The macrocell base station (MBS) owns all available spectrum resource and leases its spectrum to femtocell access points (FAPs) in order to get revenue. MBS offloads the macro UEs (MUEs) which are closer to the FAPs to improve the energy efficiency of the system. Auction mechanism is introduced to analyze the spectrum renting problem. We assume each FAP bids while the MBS acts as the auctioneer. The FAPs decide their bids independently of each other. Then MBS collects the bids of FAPs and determines the optimal allocation strategy. The MBS leases the spectrum to FAPs in order to get revenue, but it compensates FAPs for serving the additional MUEs. Simulation results validate the validity of this spectrum leasing scheme.
