Abstract
GoogleMaps and car GPS systems have now been part of our daily lives. With the widely available online map and location tracking devices, there could be many potential applications beyond road navigation and location-aware systems. These may include spatial zones of influence, spatial query processing, spatial data analysis, and spatial/mobile intelligence. In many of these applications, moving objects provide a central source for data analysis and pattern findings, which will be useful for various applications, such as traffic control, video surveillance, ecological analysis, weather forecast, etc. This talk will highlight recent work and future directions on spatial and mobile information processing, as well as revisiting ground techniques in spatial information systems.
