Abstract
Almost all downlink opportunistic resource scheduling algorithms in the multi-user OFDMA system require users’ channel quality information (CQI) which is reported to BS using the feedback channel. However, due to the limited bandwidth of the feedback channel, feedback reduction becomes very important in multi-user OFDMA systems. In this paper I propose a new feedback reduction scheme for downlink scheduling. In this proposed scheme, each user selects effective CQI reporting to BS. The feedback reduction scheme can reduce more feedback load and have more system throughput and fairness than the best-M feedback reduction scheme. Also the application of this scheme is not limited to specific scheduling algorithm.
