Abstract
The cyber range is an indispensable core infrastructure for network security evaluation and new technology verification. Network emulation is an important key technology for cyber range. Aiming at the scalability and diversity of network emulation technology, a multiscale network emulation technology based on the four-scale integration of full virtualization, lightweight virtualization, network simulation and physical equipment is proposed. First, the network emulation architecture for the four scales is introduced. Then, multiscale emulation technology is studied based on the architecture, and the connectivity, transparency and scalability of the emulation technology are verified. Finally, a study of a large-scale worm emulation is conducted in the built network. The experimental results show that the multiscale network emulation technology is practical and can better support large-scale network experiments.
