Abstract

In order to solve the difficulty of designing the feeding network of the tightly coupled dipole array antenna (TCDA) in the VHF and UHF frequency bands, we design a dual polarization TCDA antenna fed by the transformer Balun. The feeding network is composed of the coaxial line and the transformer Balun. The grounding short-circuit column is used to suppress the E-plane common mode resonance and the FSS layer is used to suppress the H-plane scan impedance mismatch. The simulation results show that the typical VSWR of the antenna is less than 2 in the 110-500MHz band, the VSWR is less than 2.5 in the ± 45° scan angle, and the section height is 275mm, about 1/10λlow. The antenna has the characteristics of ultra wide band, wide angle scan, low profile and easy processing.
