Abstract

Message push is an important communication pattern in Internet of Things and social computing. Based on the consideration of the device diversity, energy consumption, network load and timely delivery in ubiquitous terminals, this paper proposes an adaptive strategy named AMPS (Adaptive Message Push Strategy) for the message push in ubiquitous network. In this strategy, the running parameters of ubiquitous terminal are obtained to determine the message push mode, and then the dispatching module will automatically convert the communication pattern between polling-based and connection-based approach. Experiment results show that AMPS can solve the terminal diversity problem, ensure the message timely delivery, save the energy and reduce the network load in comparison with some traditional message push strategies.
