Abstract
Epidemiological studies have suggested that particulate matter (PM) causes detrimental health effects such as respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, and that combustion exhaust particles from furnace is a major contributor to PM. Catalytic combustion, however, offers an environmental-friendly technology, helping burners to reduce their emission pollutants. To better understand the effects of inhalation of catalytic combustion and conventional combustion in rats, a comparative study was conducted. Rats in group A were exposed to catalytic combustion exhaust gas for 4 hours and group B to exhaust gas of conventional burner for the same time. This article recorded the health status of mice in both group A and B, suggesting that mice in group A have a better state of health than that in group B.
