Abstract
Based on the concept of H factor proposed by Hirsch, this paper first searches out the top 135 domestic box office movies in the past 10 years, filter the data that will cause interference, and use the same method to get the number of times they appeared in academic journals. Through the correlation analysis and comparison with Douban score and box office performance, we draw a conclusion, that is, the number of times films appeared in academic journals can reflect the influence of film works. It is highly correlated with Douban score and the number of evaluators, but not with the box office. By analyzing the data, some conclusions are drawn. The criteria for judging the success of a film should not be limited to box office performance, and also should comprehensively consider the influence of the film in other aspects. The number of films cited in academic journals is also an indicator of film influence, which needs to be analyzed by relevant research.
