Abstract
This paper presents a system for the user position estimation in indoor environments based on the home appliances energy consumption. The proposed system collects the electrical energy consumed by home appliances with a smart socket. Based on the consumed power and predefined appliance information, the system estimates the position of the user and provides the visualized trajectory of the estimated user position with space time cube. The proposed system was installed in our smart home test bed and tested with several home appliances. The results showed that the position estimation of the proposed system is useful to find out the brief positions of the user.
