Abstract
In order to make best use of massive oilfield XML data which is heterogeneous and distributed, we propose a semantic integration method of building XML Knowledge Base named XML-WeKB. In this method, XML schema is first mapped to a local-Ontology by series of extraction rules, and then XML data is converted into local-Ontology instances to fill XML-WeKB by executing a recursive transformation algorithm. Based on XML-WeKB, semantic query oriented global-Ontology can be achieved by means of building ontology mappings between global-Ontology and local-Ontology. As a data integration solution, it can integrate many XML files flexibly by creating respective mappings and transformation algorithms. Finally, we implement a prototype system which can effectively accomplish semantic interaction between different XML data and provide sufficient data support for decision making in oilfield production.
