Abstract
For the reduction of internal combustion engine (ICE) sound pressure level the continuous wavelet transfer (CWT) is used for analysis of engine acoustic characteristics. Traditional CWT spectrum is not appropriate for engine sound evaluation, so a new technique A-weighted CWT was proposed and used in engine noise time-frequency analysis. Measurement was carried out and the engine acoustic characteristics were analyzed with A-weighted CWT. The new technique gives a satisfied visualization of transient sound, which is very useful for noise source identification.
