Abstract

A low-cost, integrated, Internet of things (IoT)-based, wireless smart metering system design that is efficient in terms of energy use, as well as having a website and database for power supply firms has been proposed in this research. The proposed system has a high accuracy level, reduced power consumption, and is designed to bridge the gap between consumers and energy providers by providing real-time energy consumption details, a web portal for billing information, and easy interfacing with existing energy meters. Overall, the proposal is aimed to improve energy metering systems by incorporating IoT technology and addressing issues such as prohibitive costs, lack of bidirectional communication, theft of electricity, and inefficient manual methods.
