Abstract
This article aims to analyze the morbidity and mortality of common cancers in developed and developing regions, compare the results, and find the popular tumours in China. Relevant data are based on GLOBOCAN 2018. According to the data analysis, lung cancer and breast cancer are the first and second most frequent malignant tumours in developed and developing countries. The developed countries have the highest mortality rates in lung cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, and oesophageal cancer. Developing countries have the highest mortality rates in lung cancer, breast cancer, liver cancer, cervical cancer, and gastric cancer. In China, the morbidity and mortality of lung cancer rank first, and the morbidity and mortality of lung cancer and liver cancer are higher than those of developing countries and developed countries. The mortality rate of breast cancer in China is much lower than that of developed countries and other developing countries. It is estimated that by 2040, cancers with top morbidity numbers in China will be lung cancer, stomach cancer, and liver cancer. The results present significant differences in the morbidity and mortality of distinct cancer types across different regions. The main malignant tumours are lung cancer, stomach cancer, and liver cancer that threaten the health of the Chinese population. The impact of these cancer types will rapidly deteriorate in the next few decades. This study supplies essential insights for controlling these cancer types in China.
