Abstract
In Japanese metropolitan areas, almost all railway lines are congested heavily and delayed frequently in rush hour. While congested trains are efficient for railway companies, they should satisfy passenger to a certain degree considering harder competitions in the future. Therefore, it is important to reconcile the efficient operation and passengers satisfaction. In this article, the author focuses on the way managing both by improving the railway transportation planning, and the result of cellular automata simulation suggest the effect of waiting another train to overtake. This research contributes to improving railway services and commuting environment.
