Abstract
In recent years, an innovative approach to learning has been developed to construct a context-aware mobile learning platform based on situated learning. In this study, we utilized NFC-enabled smartphones with context-aware technology to propose a Context-Aware Mobile JApanese conversation Learning system (CAMJAL) for non-native learners. Our proposed system implemented and recorded learning behaviors of the learners between peers in u-space, which is not limited to traditional e-learning system. Furthermore, the system can guide or assist the learners' to learn collaboratively in such complicated learning contexts. To cope with this problem, the CAMJAL system was developed based on an NFC-enabled environment to supporting collaborative ubiquitous learning activities. An experiment conducted in a University advanced Japanese conversation course has shown the implementation of this system.
