Abstract

This study aims to extend the observations on the possible contributing factors to anxiety, depression, stress scales and sleep quality of university students using two additional approaches in feature selection, namely, HNet and DALEX. A sample population of 2077 participants were asked through an online survey about their socio-demographic profiles, religious activities, and lifestyle, which is then related to their responses to the WHO DASS-21 and the PSQI questionnaires. The results show that, in a mixture of numerical and categorical variables, the Hypergeometric Test offered by HNet reveals more possible contributing factors whose predictive values have a comparable performance with the previous paper, more notably the Sleep Qualities and Daytime Disturbances questions which tend to be excluded by CfsSubsetEval.
