Abstract
Currently the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are an active research area due to their broad range of potential applications. Several research lectures, which include energy-aware routing, sensor deployment problem, data aggregation, etc., have been proposed on this network architecture. Among these researches, the most important issue is to conserve the usage of limited battery energy of the sensor devices in the WSNs, such that the network lifetime will be most prolonged. This paper considers a sensor deployment problem of the network planning stage. We proposed an efficient deployment algorithm to determine the proper position for each of the sensor device in the sensing region and the network lifetime of the deployed WSN will be prolonged and the coverage holes problem will be also avoided. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performed better in network lifetime prolonging, compared to other conventional deployment scheme.
