Abstract
This paper presents the development and initial user trial of a wearable computer for collecting and annotating images for field-working applications. The application is based upon the need for field archaeologists to collect accurate records of finds, although it is proposed that the application can be easily adapted to a host of field-based activities. The images are collected via a webcam and then georectified, if required. Users can then annotate the resultant images using a layered system of annotations. The user trial indicates that such an approach is superior to conventional paper-based methods.
