Abstract

In order to point out the importance and significance of studying the problem of digital competencies of teachers in the context of professional development, this paper discusses innovations in XI century education, distance education and teaching media, new roles of teachers, their competencies, and the way of improving competencies. The research included 124 teachers throughout Serbia. The instrument used in this paper is an instrument of the Likert-type assessment scale that was constructed for this research and is called the Digital Teacher Competence and Author Researcher Initiative (DTCPRI). The assessment scale contains 42 claims.
