Abstract

Hearing impaired people frequently face multiple communication barriers in society. This is very common in universities, hospitals and financial institutions. However, these barriers are created by society out of ignorance or lack of awareness. Although the course was designed for listening customer service personnel of a Cooperative, CoopeAnde No1. R.L, in Costa Rica, which provides financial services, they must be prepared to serve people with hearing disabilities. The novelty of this work is that it documents the experiences of validating the course content with people with hearing disabilities, in addition to documenting the financial findings, needs and urgencies of this population. Due to the experience achieved in Inclutec of the Technological Institute of Costa Rica, those who design and create the course, as well as the materials, it is known that the results and experiences are applicable in other Latin American and world contexts.
