Abstract
In this paper, an analysis model to utilize the capture effect for improving the system throughput in ALOHA based RFID system is presented. According to the model, an optimal capture utilization method which maximizes the system throughput in slotted ALOHA RFID system is provided, if the tag population can be accurately estimated. Furthermore, a simple empirical method based on framed ALOHA to utilize the capture effect is proposed, and this method also achieves better anti-collision performance than existing ALOHA based anti-collision algorithms.
