Abstract

This article takes wastewater discharge as the indicator of water environmental pollution in Zhengzhou City. Based on a multiple linear regression model, data from 2001 to 2021 in Zhengzhou City are selected. Through multiple regression analysis, the water environmental pollution situation and its influencing factors in Zhengzhou City are analyzed. The results show that the water pollution level in Zhengzhou City has been increasing year by year from 2001 to 2015, and has relatively slowed down in the past five years, but the situation is still not optimistic. There is a correlation between urbanization rate, the proportion of the secondary industry to GDP, domestic sewage treatment rate, and wastewater discharge. Among them, the higher the urbanization rate and the proportion of the secondary industry, the higher the degree of water pollution. On the contrary, the domestic sewage treatment rate can relatively alleviate the severe situation of water pollution. Finally, it can be concluded that the development of human society and industry will affect water resources, and protecting water resources requires improvement measures from various aspects such as government and individuals.
