Abstract
In wireless scale-free networks (WSFNs), there exist hubs which have relatively many connections with other nodes. Even though these hubs can be efficiently utilized to forward other nodes' packets, inversely hubs can encounter traffic congestion and malicious attacks. To minimize the impact of specific nodes such as hubs to an entire network, we propose a hub detour routing scheme with the enhancement of an ant colony algorithm. By adopting a novel pheromone evaporation function, we achieve autonomous load balancing and robust packet delivery in a WSFN. Mathematical analyses provide the insight of our scheme. Furthermore, simulation results support the appropriateness of our scheme compared with a conventional ant colony routing scheme.
