Editors in Chief Confirmed for IEEE Computer Society Publications

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 1 October 2024 – The IEEE Computer Society (IEEE CS) Board of Governors has confirmed incoming editors in chief (EICs) for 5 IEEE CS publications. Please join us in congratulating the following distinguished scientists and engineers whose terms will begin on 1 January 2025 and end on 31 December 2026 (unless specified otherwise below).

Troy Kaighin Astarte, Swansea University (United Kingdom), is the new EIC of IEEE Annals of the History of Computing magazine, which publishes work covering the broad history of computer technology–including technical, economic, political, social, cultural, institutional, and material aspects of computing. (Term began May 2024 and will continue through 31 December 2026.

Jeffrey Carver, of the University of Alabama (USA), is the new EIC of Computing in Science and Engineering magazine, which publishes research algorithms, system software, and computer architecture to address large computational problems.

Bo An, of the Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), is the new EIC of IEEE Intelligent Systems magazine, which publishes original, significant, and timely leading-edge theories and technologies in the area of Artifical Intelligence (AI).

Sudhanva Gurumurthi, of the Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (USA), is the new EIC of IEEE Computer Architecture Letters, a forum for new, high-quality ideas in the form of short, critically refereed technical papers in all areas of computer architecture.

Vincenzo Piuri, of the University of Milan (Italy), is the new EIC of the IEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society, a fully open access and rigorously peer-reviewed forum for articles on the latest emerging topics and trends in all aspects of computing.
