Darren Galpin currently works at SiFive as Director of Functional Safety and Quality, and hold positions of secretary of the Functional Safety Standards Committee (where I have led the white paper working group which has just published a paper on the Functional Safety Terminology Landscape), Chair of the IEEE 1647 working group, and secretary of the IEEE 3332 working group. I have previously worked at Renesas, Infineon and STMicroelectronics in verification, system architecture and product engineering in a career which covers almost 25 years. I am an active participant in the P2851, and also participate in Accellera activities. I have published papers in the areas of verification and functional safety, and have participated in conferences in the same areas, having been a panelist for two Automotive IQ conferences in 2022. I have a number of patents in the area of verification and safety mechanism design.
