In the wake of COVID-19, the global community responded to challenges related to supply chain disruption, medicine and hospitalization, forecasting and modeling, and more. To showcase these industry advancements, the IEEE Computer Society launched IEEE InTech – a forum that unites international leaders within the technical industry.
The forum, which was held 2-3 December, coincided with Moderna’s announcement of a new COVID-19 vaccine that was 95% effective against the virus that could be stored in a standard refrigerator for up to 30-days. Because the InTech Forum brings together innovators on the leading edge, featured keynote speaker, Dr. Noubar Afeyan, chair of Moderna, presented on – “Moderna, Pandemic Vaccines, and the Path to Health Security”, just in time to share key insights into the vaccine. Furthermore, his presentation touches on process improvements and scalability, lessons that can be applied to a variety of application.
