This year’s Computer Society predictions continue to focus on addressing and preventing future pandemics while exploring new opportunities technology will have in seven areas: core technologies, security, reliability, AI, healthcare, industry verticals, and productivity tools.

The team measured the predictions in terms of likelihood and desirability, as shown in the graph. Datacentric AI is the most likely, and remote medicine is the most desirable. Most technologies show correlation, they are similarly likely and desirable. However, there are some outliers, such as NFTs which are much less desirable than likely and Confidential Computing which is much less likely than desirable.
